What is the current financial condition of the church?

What are the plans to manage the current budget?

Our current debt is $3.8 million.  At our current monthly loan payment of $29,500.00 a month it will be 15 years before we retire this debt.

In addition to the debt payment we budget another $100,000.00 a year into a line item called the building maintenance reserve fund.  These funds go towards items such as: the replacement of air conditioners when they are no longer repairable, the patching of roof leaks as they occur and other non-routine maintenance expenses.

To put non-routine facility expenses into perspective we have 90 A/C units on our campus.  Many have functioned beyond their intended lifespan and must be replaced due to parts no longer being readily available to repair them.  One 10-ton unit can cost $15,000 to replace, a 40-ton unit such as one of the ones on the sanctuary can cost around $55,000 to replace.  As you can see, it doesn’t take long to exceed the $100,000.00 budgeted.  There are still numerous units needing to be replaced which will put a significant strain on our annual budget in order to stay operational.

How long is the commitment for this campaign?

3 years

Why should I sign a pledge to the Pathway Stewardship campaign?

God’s plan for Israel to acquire the Promised Land required the whole nation to be involved. God’s command to Haggai to rebuild the temple involved everyone.  As the Bride of Christ, the Church, we are a body of believers who are designed to function together.  We are better together!

Your involvement in the Pathway Stewardship Campaign demonstrates your desire to honor the Lord and your commitment to join your church family in advancing the ministry of Calvary Baptist Church.

What are the different ways I can give?

  • Decrease:  Are there things in your life you can take advantage of less frequently?  Maybe it’s fewer coffee shop runs or one less dinner out each week.  By decreasing a weekly expense, regardless of what it might be, you can save a significant amount to contribute.

  • Delay: Are there plans you might be making that involve a financial commitment?  If so, prayerfully ask God about delaying those plans and using the extra income to contribute.

  • Do More: Often, there are creative ways to save money.  Maybe it’s been a while since you got a quote for an existing service (ie., cell phone and cable service).  Perhaps you could do some extra comparison or bargain shopping to save funds.  For your kids, it could be as easy as saving extra change to give.

  • Donate: A great way to contribute is to give existing assets.  Giving assets to the church and letting us sell them eliminates potential capital gains taxes and may increase after-tax proceeds.  Please contact the church office for more guidance before committing an asset gift in order to determine its viability for liquidation.

How can I help?

  • First and foremost, please pray regularly for our Pathway Stewardship Campaign.

  • Participate in the events and meetings.  Make a commitment to learn as much as you can about the campaign and the vision it will help us realize.

  • Give sacrificially.  The vision God has granted us can only be achieved through faith and sacrifice. We have the privilege to be a part of growing His Kingdom!

  • Grow spiritually.  You cannot walk closely with the Lord and not become more of the person He has designed you to be.  May this campaign not so much be about improving Calvary’s financial condition, as it is improving Calvary’s spiritual condition.  A healthy church is a vibrant church!

So get on the Pathway and discover the journey God has for us as Calvary Baptist Church!
